Don’t see the printmaking class you wanted to take on this list? Have a specific print project you would like to complete but don’t have the necessary printmaking skills? Want to learn printmaking at times and dates that suit your schedule? Maybe a SNAP Printing Apprenticeship is for you!

At $50 per hour you will receive one-on-one instruction with a highly qualified SNAP instructor, and a tailor-made print program to suit your needs, desired outcome, and budget.

Note: Total cost of a printmaking apprenticeship will depend on what you wish to learn and achieve. These details will be discussed with the SNAP instructor prior to the start of an apprenticeship; we request a minimum of 6 hours for the apprenticeship program. The $50 per hour does not include the material fees.

One Negative: Introductory Darkroom Photography

Learn the basics in printing your own photographic monochrome prints. This is your chance to create beautiful bevelled B&W prints of new snapshots from your body of work or from your family archival vault. Print an array of sizes; postcard size 3 7/8×5 7/8, 8×10, 11×14, on resin coated and fibre-based papers. Noodle around in the darkroom with Patrick Arès-Pilon as you spend the weekend experimenting with developer and negatives while you explore darkroom image making.

Premiere opportunity! Join Patrick Arès-Pilon in exploring the View-Master’s Pandora’s box. Learn how to make your own stereoscopic reels with the original 1950’s technology. You will learn how to shoot stereoscopic process 35 mm reversal slide film and mount one of the smallest film formats to your own reels. Spend the first day shooting film and capturing fascinating views and scenes and then develop and mount your prints! Create some intriguing 3D images and explore darkroom photography further in this interesting advanced apprenticeship opportunity!
