Andrew Benson // drwbnsn.ca
Maximum 8 participants

Get back to the basics and learn one of the most direct screen printing processes by creating your own hand cut screen stencils. Before the age of photo-emulsions and UV exposure units cutting screen stencils by hand was an industry standard in graphic design for colour separation. The results were the glorious vivid designs we associate with this iconic printing method. This evening workshop will introduce participants to this immensely satisfying technique, which reveal the idiosyncrasies of the mark of the hand. Local Designer, Andrew Benson will demonstrate the process of screen printing and how to hand cut both intricate and simple stencils out of a variety of materials. Participants will explore cutting, aligning, layering hand-cut screen stencils to create multi-colour prints.

This class is now full. Please call 780-423-1492 to be added to a waitlist.
