EPI 2008 is a world-class event that will focus attention on Edmonton
as a centre of vision and leadership in visual arts and culture.
EPI 2008 will open eyes and minds to evolving graphic traditions
around the world, engaging audiences with a magical energy and sense
of connection with artists and cultures from Boston to Beijing.
The event will showcase all print-art mediums including but not
limited to; delicate bookplate miniatures; large print installations
incorporating sculpture and video; and etchings, magnificently rendered
to digital murals and fabric.
An international jury will select winning works from local and international
print-artists.
SNAP will work with the University of Alberta as well as other local
and national arts organizations in the presentation of integrated
functions, including expositions, lectures, panel discussions and
workshops.
The Edmonton Print International 2008 confirms SNAP’s mission
to support printmaking and related activity; to increase the local
community's understanding and appreciation of printmaking and print-related
work; to provide a forum for local artists to gain exposure to print
techniques and print-related issues; and to facilitate the exchange
and exhibition of work from local, regional, national and international
artists.
