A Perfect Christmas Print Affair

The fifth annual A Perfect Christmas Print Affair will be held at SNAP on Saturday, December 8, from 11 am to 5 pm. The Print Affair kicks off a Christmas sale that will continue through until Saturday, December 22, 2007. This event continues to provide an excellent opportunity for artists to sell and for the public to purchase quality prints and print-related work. All proceeds from the sale of artist’s work are shared 50-50 between the artist and SNAP, with the option for artists to donate 100% to SNAP if they wish. SNAP, a not-for-profit artist-run centre, assigns these much-needed proceeds towards programming and operating the print shop. This promises to be another excellent opportunity for artists to earn some extra cash, whilst supporting SNAP. As this event promotes the purchase of art as gifts, smaller prints that sell for under $100 are ideal. Though small to medium size prints in the $100 to $300 range will also be accepted. In the end any size will be accepted, but smaller prints are more attractive to gift buyers.

Prints do not have to be framed, but they do need to be presentation ready: mounted on a board, in a plastic sheet or cover. Wrapping or covering prints with acetate, cellophane or shrink-wrap is the best assurance that they will not suffer from handling by the public. You can choose to matt them for a professional presentation. SNAP will have a selection of mattes and frames from Great Bear Framing for purchase. There are no restrictions on the number of prints you can send.

We ask that prints be delivered to/arrive at SNAP by 5pm on Friday, November 30, 2007. SNAP hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 12 noon to 5 pm. Please have the following included in your package: title, media, size, sale price, contact information (where to send your cheque from sales), self addressed return package, and a completed contract (see attachment). Please indicate if you can collect unsold prints in person. If you are shipping your work, please list this information on a sheet of paper and send it with your print work. We ask that you be a current member of SNAP to participate. If you are not a current SNAP member please send a completed Membership Form to SNAP, accompanied by payment cheque(s) or money order(s), when you are sending us your Print Affair work. Cash and credit card payments are only accepted in person.
