Light up your summer nights with SNAP, Harcourt House, FAVA and the Nina Haggerty Center for the Arts!

On Saturday July 21st, The Society of Northern Alberta Print-Artists (SNAP gallery), Harcourt House, The Film and Video Art Society of Alberta (FAVA) and the Nina Haggerty Center for the Arts will be teaming up to host an event titled Illuminate! ‘Lights’ will be the theme of the events taking place at the non-profit art centers. From 12pm to 5pm we will be celebrating the fusion of lights and drawing techniques. Illuminate aims to bring together those who are interested in the arts to participate in the free day-long event. Everyone is encouraged to come and join in on the festivities!
From each location, you’ll receive a ticket stub to be submitted into a draw during the after party at Harcourt House. There will be amazing prizes so don’t miss out! Prizes will be based off of how many events you attended so swing by all the centers and make some illuminating art!

SNAP

Come by SNAP’s printshop and learn how to create your own candle lanterns with custom made silkscreen images. Learn the ins and outs of the screen-printing process and become acquainted with the beauty of printmaking.

Harcourt House

Harcourt House will be offering life drawing sessions, paper bag lantern workshops and the opportunity to add to the collaborative wall mural within the gallery space.

FAVA

FAVA (the Film and Video Arts Society of Alberta) will be hosting a scratch animation workshop from 2pm to 5pm at the Harcourt House Annex building. Paint, draw and scratch on film with your own two hands, and be surprised and delighted when you run it though a projector. Harcourt House Annex Building.

The Nina Haggerty Center

The Nina Haggerty Center will be creating collaborative lanterns using stencils and other various drawing techniques. Learn new drawing techniques and realize them within illuminating lantern format!

Party!

The events will conclude with an after-party at Harcourt House from 6pm 10pm where there will ample amounts of food, drink, music and (of course) lights! During this party, there will be a draw where you will enter based on however many events you attended.
